A Proposal to Simplify and Streamline Tax Filing has Merit

Representative Darin LaHood (R-IL) introduced the Tax Administration Simplification Act on June 27, 2024. If enacted this would provide some meaningful simplification to many of the tax processes that are somewhat “clunky” right now.
The Act incorporates many of the provisions contained in the National Taxpayer Advocate’s annual “Purple Book”, but also proposes several other needed changes as follows:
