We have done previous posts on our estimate of the projected 2025 ARC/PLC payments.

OBBBA updated these payments as follows:

  • Increased the reference prices for all crops at least 10% and up to 21% and the average increase was about 15%.

  • Increased the “floor” percentage for the effective reference price calculation from 85% of the Olympic Average price to 88%.

  • Increased the payment limit from $125,000 to $155,000 and indexes it to inflation starting in 2026.

  • Automatically pay the higher of ARC or PLC for the 2025 crop but only for the 2025.

  • Starting with the 2026 crop, a national increase to base acres of 30 million acres or an average increase for most farmers of about 12% to their payments starting with that crop year.
