Farmers in Five States Do Not Need to File Before May 1
Farmers in Disaster Affected Areas have more time to file
We had written last week that farmers in disaster areas that normally file by March 1 (March 3 this year) have extra time to file their income tax returns and pay their tax.
All farmers in the following states have until May 1, 2025, to file and pay their income taxes:
Alabama
Florida
Georgia
North Carolina, and
South Carolina
Parts of Alaska, New Mexico, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia also have the same deadline.
California wildfire victims have until October 15 and Kentucky flood victims have until November 3, 2025, to file and pay.
If you decide that you need to file an extension, that is due on May 1 too, however, if you file it after April 15 you will need to file it manually.
