FSA Will Provide Cost-Share Assistance for On-Farm Storage Damage

The FSA announced late last week up to $20 million of assistance for damaged grain storage facilities during December 1, 2021 to August 1, 2022.

The FSA announced on March 9 $20 million of cost-share assistance for eligible disaster events in certain states for damage to grain storage facilities through the Emergency Grain Storage Facility Assistance Program (EGSFP).

States that are eligible are Kentucky, Minnesota, South Dakota, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota, and Tennessee. The application period will open later this month and will close December 29, 2023.

The press release contains maps for each of these states showing the areas that would be eligible for this cost-share program.

The types of grain storage facilities covered by this program include:

• conventional-type cribs or bins designed and engineered for grain storage  

• open buildings with two end walls  

• converted storage structures  

• asphalt, concrete or gravel floors with grain piles and tarp covering,  

• ag baggers (including bags)
