FarmdocDAILY provides good information for farmers on a daily basis. Their latest report issued today provides guidance on your 2024 crop insurance decision.
The report shows the projected and harvest prices for 2011-2023 plus the projected price for 2024. 2024 has the largest drop in projected price from the previous year during this period. The price dropped from $5.91 to $4.66 or a $1.25 drop which is about 21%. The second highest drop was for the 2014 crop of $1.03 or 18%.
