Happy Fourth of July — and Happy 250th, America
We wish everyone a happy and safe Fourth of July
To all our readers, clients, and friends across farm country: Happy Fourth of July.
This one is special. 2026 marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 — America’s semiquincentennial. Two and a half centuries as a nation, and through every one of them, the farmers and ranchers who work this land have been part of the foundation it all rests on.
That connection is easy to feel this week. Independence has always been more than a date — it’s the freedom to own a piece of ground, to build something on it, and to pass it down to the next generation. That’s the heart of what so many of you do every single day, and it’s the heart of the work we’re privileged to help with.
So take the day. Step back from the combine, the books, and the market reports. Enjoy the cookout, the fireworks, and the family. The crop and the tax deadlines will still be there Monday.
From our family to yours — thank you for 250 years of feeding this country, and here’s to the next 250.
Happy Independence Day.
