How High Can SDRP Top Up Go
SDRP Stage 1 and 2 are paying out 35%, USDA can go up to 90%
SDRP Stage 1 and 2 were authorized by Congress in December 2024. It is now April 2026 and currently SDRP will close at the end of this month.
We continue to hear that Stage 2 has had several issues getting correct information to the local FSA office to process claims especially with replant acres and Multicounty Enterprise units. We are not sure if these issues will ever get totally fixed, but let’s assume that SDRP will close as scheduled on April 30, 2026.
At that point, USDA will then calculate how much money is available to “top up” farmers who have already filed their claims. Congress essentially authorized a little more than $16 billion for SDRP.
