IRS Announces Filing and Payment Relief for Nebraska Taxpayers Impacted by Storms
The IRS announced yesterday that certain counties in Nebraska now have until September 3, 2024, to file or pay taxes.
In our post from yesterday we reviewed the extension of time for certain counties in Iowa. These taxpayers would have until October 15, 2024, to file or pay certain taxes or forms.
However, the taxpayers in Nebraska only have until September 3, 2024. The storms in Iowa were a day later than the Nebraska storms but not sure how this speeds up the date by over 30 days.
The following Nebraska counties are affected by the notice:
Boone,
Douglas,
Greeley,
Howard,
Sherman, and
Washington.
There will continue to be more of these notices, and we will keep you posted.
