IRS Offers Webinar on New 1099 E-Filing Requirements
The IRS is offering a webinar tomorrow, November 16 on the new 1099 E-filing requirements. Many more farmers will have to e-file now.
The Taxpayers First Act passed in 2021 requires e-filing for taxpayers who issue 10 Form 1099s down from the old 250 form requirement. Many farm operations generate at least 10 Form 1099s and will be required to file these electronically.
There are several third-party providers that can do this for you and the cost of using the service is not that bad. Also, your tax preparer can provide this service too.
When I did the post it was still available. Hopefully they open it up more.
