It appears that the Senate Democrats may shut down the government. If this happens farmers will wait longer for their economic aid.
It appears that the Senate Democrats are more than willing to shut down the government. They indicated yesterday that they are unwilling to allow the House budget bill to be passed in the Senate.
Although the Republicans have a 53-47 majority, they need 60 votes to get over any filibuster by the Democrats and that likely would not happen.
