Nine Days to Go

FSA is "Required" to issue Farm Economic Assistance by March 21. Will they meet the deadline?

Congress authorized $10 billion of economic assistance as part of the Bill pass late in December 2024. This Bill requires USDA to issue this economic aid within 90 days which is March 21, 2025, or next Friday.

Secretary of Ag Rollins indicated about two weeks ago that they should meet the deadline. However, this still requires farmers to receive an application, review it and then provide it to their local office and then receive funds by this deadline.

As of today, USDA has less than 9 days to fully fund this liability. Will they meet the deadline. We highly doubt it.
