SDRP Stage 1 and 2 is sign-up period is scheduled to close at the end of April 2026. Once it is finally closed, USDA will then calculate the amount of funds available to “top-up” producers.

Originally, USDA elected to cover 35% of the expected losses and based on our previous posts, we expect that there may be sufficient funds to pay producers perhaps another 30% on top of the 35%.

But what happens if the producer is close to or has already hit the payment cap. Does this mean that there is a separate payment cap for the “top-up”. The answer is no. Once you hit the payment cap, you will receive no more funds.
