Supplemental Disaster Relief Program Signup May be a Few Days Later

USDA originally had a June 9 deadline to get SDRP details to OMB. They missed it by about two weeks.

USDA has a dashboard on the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program (SDRP), and it provides estimated dates on when disaster payment sign up will begin.

Most crop farmers have been waiting to sign up for the 2023 and 2024 disaster program since Congress provided for it in December 2024. Economic aid was distributed fairly quickly; however, disaster aid has a lot more moving parts to it then economic aid. This process takes more time and at a minimum it usually takes six or more months to issue the first payment.

Some livestock disaster aid has already been provided for ranchers.

USDA indicated that they had hoped to get the final details to CBO to review by June 9.
