The SDRP Stage 2 Calculator
We provide a detailed calculator for SDRP Stage 2
SDRP Stage 2 was available starting last Monday November 24, 2025. Unlike Stage 1, there is no calculated amount of potential value once you get your filled in application. Rather, there are only two boxes that are pre-filled in for you - Box 22: SDRP Liability and Box 23: RMA Producer Certified Production.
But what does this mean and how do you calculate the estimated Stage 2 payment.
The SDRP Final Rule available on the FSA website actually tells us how to do it, but it can be a little clunky. The information that you will need to determine your estimated Stage 2 payment is:
Your APH for the crop (you may need to back into the average APH based on the Box 22 number, etc.)
Your quality loss, if any (discounts due to high/low protein for wheat, etc.)
Actual Production (Box 23): You only enter a number in Box 24 if you disagree with the RMA number
The coverage you originally elected (50%, 55%, 60%, 65%, 70%, 75%, 80%, 85%)
The harvest price for that particular crop (2023 or 2024). You will not receive any payment for the price loss for that year
The Box 22 SDRP Liability: This is a product of your total acres multiplied by APH multiplied by harvest price and then multiplied by the SDRP Stage 2 coverage level. FSA has calculated this for you.
The total amount of crop insurance premiums and fees you paid related to that crop.
Once you have all of that information, you can then calculate your estimated SDRP Stage 2 payment for each crop.
We have worked up a calculator based on the steps outlined in the Final Rule. Here is the calculator using the example numbers from the Final Rule:
