These are technical corrections, but we think they are still using spring price for Stage 2

USDA released some technical corrections for the Dairy Margin Coverage program and for the SDRP Stage 1 and 2 programs. They were posted on Friday but have a March 9 date.

Key changes clarified eligibility and payment calculations. The original release late last year had various errors in how the payment calculation would be made. This release fixes those errors, but it does not address whether USDA will change Stage 2 to use harvest price in their payment calculations (at least as far as we can tell).

For sugar beet producers, the correction clarifies that SDRP Stage 2 payments are only disallowed when a cooperative processor has already received a payment for the same loss through a block grant or cooperative agreement.
