USDA yesterday announced the details on Stage 1 of the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program (SDRP). In today’s post we work up the estimated SDRP net payment per acre for a corn farmer in Dekalb County, Illinois with a 225 APH for the 2024 crop year.

We estimated the crop fees and premiums based on 2025 estimated basic premiums (we are not crop insurance agents and did not have easy access to 2024 premiums, but differences are likely minor compared to actual premiums and fees).

In our first chart, we show final harvest yields of 125 bushels per acre. Likely the yield was not that low, but in order to show an original indemnity payment, we needed to get the yield that low. Remember, Stage 1 only makes a SDRP payment if you originally received an indemnity payment.
