What Might 2026 PLC Payments Look Like

USDA had their Ag Outlook Forum last week and I was planning on attending before doing my Brazil trip.

Part of the presentation that is available online is their outlook for corn, soybean and wheat 2026 estimated national MYA prices that are used for calculating PLC payment rates.

We decided to do our first estimate of the national PLC payment rate for these crops plus rice. We believe the rice MYA estimate is 14 cents per hundredweight and we are using that in our estimates. As we receive more MYA estimates, we will update for those other crops too.

Here is a chart showing how the national PLC yields are for both 2025 and 2026 crop years based on the current USDA projected MYA prices:
