Wheat May Pay More Than Corn
Based on the April WASDE report, wheat may pay more than corn for 2025 ARC
Estimated 2025 ARC/PLC national payments peaked back in September 2025. Since then, we have seen a steady erosion in the payment levels and the latest April WASDE report continues that trend.
First, let’s take a look at our original September report. Remember, that this is a minimum amount of payments. Since farmers will receive automatically the higher of ARC or PLC for 2025 crop year, we need to add about an extra $1 - $2 billion of payments to these estimates, however, it is good to see how the trend has changed.
